Delta 9192T SSSD DST

Our Review:

Graced with delicate curves, advanced soft rubberized nubbins on the surface to help clean and keep calcium build up at bay, the Delta 9192T-SSSD-DST is a touch sensitive faucet that responds to your delicate contact anywhere on the handle or spout to turn the water on and off. This pull-down faucet is finished in stainless steel featuring a contemporary style with plenty of Delta specific technologies. To start with its got MagnaTite docking to keep the wand in place and locked when not in use, Diamond seal technology that prevents drips and leakage even after years of regular abuse, interior lining that separates water from contaminants and single lever design for efficient water control. Did I also mention that its one of the cheapest touch sensitive faucets around?

GD Star Rating

Has a wide swivel range, pull-down sprayer with dual mode, touch operation and elegant styling. Overall very handy and a decent 5 year warranty.

The touch operations are both a boon and bane. The counterweight for the pull-out spray head tends to disintegrate with time. Electricals need replacement on an annual basis.

Functionality: 4/5

Quite simply put, I haven’t yet seen another faucet in its price range manage to do so many things well. Touch operations are easy to learn and it takes the pain out of cooking. Then there is the smudge free stainless steel finishing that is super-easy to clean. You also have a dual mode sprayer with a stream and spray mode. Finally, the wide angle swivel is more than sufficient for a three sink setup plus the high arced neck lets you use it with shallow sinks too. The only real complain as far as functionality goes is with regards to the touch sensitivity. It can be a pain cleaning dishes as the slightest touch can turn it on and off. Moreover, time tends to play havoc with its electrical causing the touch mechanism to falter.

Style: 5/5

I must say, out of all faucets that have touch sensitive operations, this is the most elegantly styled. High arc, shiny yet not overtly glossy stainless steel finishing with an accompanying soap dispenser unit gives it a modern and contemporary feel. In my opinion, it will go great with any kitchen, be it stone countertops, wooden finish or even rustic glamour. In fact, the spray head out of its socket looks just as splendid as the faucet itself.

Durability: 3/5

There is a reason why the Delta 9192T-SSSD-DST doesn’t get a full five star on Amazon and elsewhere. As I found out, initially it tends to give the impression of lasting more than 5 years but as time goes by, you will start to notice the counterweight under the sink to secure the pull-out sprayer lose its fluidity. This is because of the use of plastic coating on the steel ball. Furthermore, the electrical wiring and battery pack also lose their sensitivity in a matter of months and by the tenth month you will have to replace the entire electrical system. Thankfully, it reverts back to almost brand new like functionality. The long warranty cover however does provide relief.

Extras: 5/5

The 15.42 inch high spout and a decent reach are its biggest advantage. The Delta 9192T-SSSD-DST is graced with touch operations, the standout extra feature but what most will never notice about this faucet is its extra wide swiveling ability. Where other faucets probably manage a decent 120 degree turning radius, this faucet actually goes far beyond that to about 180 degrees. Finally, kudos to Delta for the Diamond valves that last a life time as well as keep water away from contamination.

Warranty And Repair: 4/5

Delta is probably one of the best brands in America in terms of customer service. Unfortunately, where other Delta products come with the default lifetime warranty, the Delta 9192T-SSSD-DST is secured under a 5 year warranty. I believe it is because of the constant electrical problems it faces or the counterweight issue. Nevertheless, if you ever face anything major with this faucet, Delta will gladly replace it within warranty.

Overall Rating: 4.1/5

Certainly a complete package, the Delta 9192T-SSSD-DST does most things really well and does an average job at others. Yes, it requires annual maintenance but it is also a cutting edge design incorporating the very best in the industry. I recommend this faucet to all who love spending time in the kitchen cooking up a storm. Its additional features, touch sensitivity is great for a busy home chef. I love it and am considering keeping it as my main faucet even though I plan on buying a few more to personally review.

i purchased this faucet at home Depot. Will the faucet work, even when the batteries are dead?
